ITS TIME!!! to Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge! Your way to Victory in this Dodgeball showdown and claim the accolade of Champ!

When – 11:30 Saturday 18th November

Where – The Sandy (FNTBG)

Prize – Medals for winning team and player of the round award for Standout Player

The round will be a mini league format. Players will be drawn into 4 teams and every team will play each other 4 times with a point being awarded in the mini league for a win. The team with the most points at the end will be the Champions! If there is a tie situation on points at the end then the winner will be decided by head to head results and if that is also level then a Sudden Death Showdown decider match will be played to Crown our Champions!!

How to play;

The main objective in dodgeball is to eliminate all members of the opposing team by throwing the ball at them.

Players must dodge the ball to remain in the game and the team who manages to eliminate all of their opponent’s first are deemed the winners.

The game commences with the opening rush. All the dodgeballs are lined up in the centre of the court, with both teams rushing from their base line to the balls.

Players have to simultaneously grab and throw a dodgeball or roll it back to a team-mate.

You can not cross the centre divide or leave the court or you will be eliminated from the game.

The aim of the game is to eliminate players of the opposing team, which can be done in a number of ways.

The most obvious way is hitting an opponent with a ball, if a player is hit and the ball is not caught before becoming dead, that player is eliminated.

However, if a player throws a ball that is caught by an opponent, the throwing player is eliminated from the game and an out player from the catching players team is reinstated back into the game.

Therefore providing an incentive for catching the ball, as opposed to just dodging the ball.

The game is over when all of the players on one team are eliminated.

So that’s it pretty simple really. Smash up the opposing team and don’t get Smashed. And just remember the 5 Ds of Dodgeball; Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge!

Scoring Points

25 points for each game played

50 (1pp) points for each win

50 points (1pp) for each player you smash out

50 points (1pp) for each catch out

Final Ranking Points;

Winning team – 200 points

2nd place – 150 points

3rd place – 100 points

4th place – 50 points
